SSC-6 Meeting Announcement
Posted on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 @ 07:03:57 MST by rcadmin

Z136.6 Standard Subcommittee A meeting of the Z136.6 American National Standard for Safe Use of Lasers Standard Subcommittee (SSC-6) has been scheduled for January 27th, 2003 at DRS Optronics in Melbourne, Florida.

Complete Announcement:
--------------------------------

Everyone,

I have received excellent response from my previous emails and the membership list is almost complete. We have a good group attending the meetings in January. I have contacted the Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront for convenience since the G-10 will be meeting there and several of you will be attending that as well. Ask for the ANSI Z136 rate of $105 per night (or the G-10 rate, which is the same); that is also the government per diem rate. The meeting location is about 15 minutes away at DRS Optronics; directions will follow. Refreshments will be available in the morning and afternoon, but lunch is on your own since I thought everyone would like to get outside and enjoy the sunshine during lunch.

I have attached suggested schedules for the two days of meeting, and the current membership list and contact information. SSC-6 (dot6) will meet on Monday, 27 January and TSC-7 (examples) will meet on Tuesday, 28 January.

The ANSI Z136.6 examples will be discussed on Tuesday instead of Monday. For those on the TSC-7 committee only that would like to spend two days in Florida, you are welcome to attend both meetings or attend just the afternoon on Monday, but let me know if you are planning on doing that.

Also, perhaps everyone could check their information to make sure that I entered it correctly.

This is another reminder, although a little short notice, that the cutoff date for getting the room rate ($105) at the Radisson for the SSC-6 and TSC-7 ANSI meetings is this weekend, 12 Jan. Ask for the ANSI rate. Edye Domina from DRS Optronics has also graciously provided the names of some other hotels in the area. Ask for the DRS rate. Some local restaurants are also listed for consideration. Lunch will be on our own. Directions from the DRS facility to the beach hotels is attached. Directions to the DRS facility from the Orlando and Melbourne airports will follow. There will be plenty of food and coffee at the meeting, so you do not need to eat breakfast first. Plan to arrive sometime before 8:30 since you need to stop at the desk for your badge first. If someone has not emailed me their intention of attending, please do so; then, you will have a badge also. Wes Marshall
