Answer
·  What is the Z136 Standard?

They describe maximum permissible exposures to lasers along with required engineering and administrative control measures. Also included in the Standards are methodologies for properly assessing the hazards associated with exposure to lasers.

·  Can I get a free, electronic copy of a Z136 Standard by obtaining an account on this web site?

NO. The Z136 series of laser safety standards are copyrighted documents. As such, you must purchase the standard in order to obtain a copy. The various areas on the Z136.ORG web site occasionally contain documents which augment the standards, such as errata and interpretations authored by members of the standard subcommittees. Approved members of standards and techncial subcommittees can get working documents through their private area accounts, but never complete or final versions of the Z136 standards.
